What is RSS?RSS is a technology that will help you find out the latest information about what's happening at Comic-Con International and our other conventions. Not only is this a free service, you don't have to give us any of your personal information to get it. And, unlike subscribing to a mail list, it won't clog your inbox with any more spam. This technology is used by all the major news services, bloggers, and now, we're using it too. When you subscribe to our RSS news feeds you'll receive the latest and greatest information; all the updates on our website and news about our conventions! Right now, our feeds are limited to news and announcements, but we hope to expand our feeds into other areas as well. Who can tell what the future may hold…especially if this becomes as popular with you as we think it will. You can subscribe and check our feeds at your leisure. Newsfeed articles will link you to the webpage that's referenced in each article. You don't have to check the various sections of our site manually to see what's changed (though we welcome you to explore them anytime). We'll tell you what's new and how to find out more. And, you can subscribe or unsubscribe at your convenience. Sounds great, doesn't it? Many major news services and blogging services already use RSS web feeds. Now, we do too. Whether you are a comics professional, an exhibitor, a die-hard fan, a comics blogger, or a member of the press, this is a great way for you to keep up-to-date with our latest news and releases. What do I need to get started?You're going to need an RSS Reader or Aggregator. Some browsers, such as Safari, already incorporate RSS as a feature. Mozilla's Firefox will allow you to add RSS/XML feeds in a feature it calls Live Bookmarks (although you can still use a Reader). Other browsers require that you use an extension or add-on. You can even choose to have the feeds sent to your email system, use a standalone program to view feeds, or even use a web-based RSS feed aggregator so that your feeds are available wherever you have a connection to the net no matter what machine you are using. Even better, most of these RSS tools are Freeware! If you are using an add-on, you'll need to copy and paste the address of the feed into your news reader program. Where do I get a News Reader?Rather than recreate the wheel, the contributors to Wikipedia have already done a great job at going into more details and pulling together lists of the major RSS feed readers/aggregators that are out there.
